Adding a new Whatsapp number
To add a new Whatsapp number Click “Add New” and select Whatsapp. This number will serve as the public-facing number for the WhatsApp Business API account.

A WhatsApp Business API account is a type of WhatsApp business setup designed for medium to large companies that need to communicate with customers at scale. Since the API has no interface of its own, it is connected directly to a Bookline WhatsApp bot so that your customers can communicate with it through Whatsapp.
You have two options:
Choose an unassigned number from your list of purchased numbers.**

Use your own number:
If you choose this option, complete the form with the corresponding country code and phone number. Check the box to receive SMS or direct calls as it will be necessary to receive a verification code.

**Disclaimer: it is recommended to choose a new number with no WhatsApp account previously associated with it since in order to connect with the WhatsApp API, we will need to delete all of the past chat history associated with this account. Additionally, you will no longer be able to send or receive new messages in the WhatsApp app.
Next, you will be asked to confirm if the number is already associated with a WhatsApp account.

If you select Option 2 or Option 3 you will need to delete your WhatsApp account which means you will no longer be able to send or receive messages through the app and all of your chat history will be deleted.
If you have chosen to proceed with this option you will be asked to delete your WhatsApp account. If you choose to delete your WhatsApp account be sure as this action cannot be undone. If you have doubts, select ‘I am not sure’ and a customer support agent will get in touch shortly with next steps.

Once you have deleted your account, you will be able to proceed with API onboarding by connecting to 360 Dialog. If you have doubts, please book a meeting with our support team.

If you select any of the other options (1, 4, or 5), you will see this message which means your request has been submitted and customer service will be in touch with you shortly to proceed with next steps.
